Snapshots from the week.....
The only white and the only flocked tree
we have done this year, but absolutely BEAUTIFUL!

I HAVE A DAY OFF!!! well NOT really..a to do list that took two pages to type, but the good news is I can do it all in my pajamas, watching football, drinking great coffee, with my house filled with the smells of Christmas..(I must have 20 candles burning)! There is a fire blazing in the fireplace and all my trees in every room are on. Every little nook looks Christmas, filled with bright RED poinsettias, trees filled with memories of 37 years of marriage, 2 great kids and four little grandsons. I am 90% finished with my shopping, now I just need to create some beautiful packages. Add to that, I got ten hours of much
needed sleep and my servant husband (and only people that know him really understand that line) has gone to fill my car up, wash it and pick up pizza and some Blue Bell ice cream. The best part of ALL is we are down to the last week of TREES and my body feels it. I reread that paragraph and all seems right with the world. Today it is! After spending more time in others homes than my own during the past six weeks, I know that is not the case everywhere. So I do not take TODAY for granted. We are blessed.
I have not been able to post daily and I had really hoped to. But this is a glimpse into the life of a tree decorator.
This is the short version of my week. I will have to look back at my calendar to even do it . Most days I have no clue what day of the week it is.
Monday we started the week at a beautiful home that is straight out of Southern Living magazine. I have done this tree for more years than I can remember. The tree is one that you see from multiple rooms and is perfect for the house....the entire tree
is filled with iced fruit

Then we moved across town to do an old friend's home. He is a bachelor and loves his beautiful tree.....He cannot understand how we get so many ornaments on ONE tree
So many trees look alike in the pictures and yet they are ALL so different....next year I am going to LEARN how to make those BIG and BEAUTIFUL pictures.
Tuesday was a day spent at one of the most fun gals on the schedule. I showed you her pictures (the wine on the gold tray home) in the previous post. She uses all REAL garland....and has gorgeous banisters that we finish out with wonderful ribbon.
Wednesday we arrived at our first job to the smells of the BEST POUND CAKE ever, just out of the oven and baked just FOR US! This is a home that just says WELCOME when you walk in...and the trees are always beautiful. BUT I do not have pictures...she is emailing them to me...my only excuse is it was a rainy and cold day and we needed to get to the next job.
We headed next to her real estate office. I will show them in the next post...This is the office tree...a little bit of a hodge podge, using some left over ornaments. The funny part of this is we have gotten so many compliments on it....so after a LONG day we headed home and had another day down.
Thursday we did a wonderful home for wonderful people. This family built the ultimate retirement home...we ride the elevator to the third floor and step out into the Christmas room. We did a little less at this house than our normal decorating as they are spending the holidays out of town. But one of the greatest perks of my job is meeting and getting to know wonderful families and this is one of them.

Friday we did a new house....A beautiful home, a newlywed couple, a new tree and what fun we had making their entry hall and mantle gorgeous. The tree was an awesome tree to work with but those pictures are going to have to be on my next post...as they are on my other camera.....but it was a FUN house..
Yesterday found us tired to say the least but we took on one of the biggest jobs of the week. A white flocked tree that is at the top of this post, a stunningly beautiful tree and that's not bragging..I had good stuff to work with. It took us hours and hours and more hours. The mantle was one of our favorite!
If you are still with me after all that you are worn out. So am I! I will be sure and post pictures of the other houses from the past week soon. Also my Disney tree is coming up this week along with more homes that we will head to first thing tomorrow. If you find any grammar errors, typing errors, etc. in this post, just know that I am on overload mentally and physically..
But we are within a few days of saying that one more year we have DECKED SOME HALLS, made some families very happy and are still smiling. For me, I am ready to get back to being GRAMMY and celebrating with my family the ultimate BABY THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING! In the hustle and bustle of THIS WEEK, remember the reason for the season.

They are all beautiful, Teresa! I don't know how you do it! I have one interior decorating client I'm trying to finish up with before the holidays and I'm tired before I start the week.

I am going to comment on my own blog...after Kathy's comment I want to make sure no one thinks I do this by myself.
I have lots of good help, a great support system in place at home, amazing ELVES and to answer her question I JUST DO IT! Some days I do it better than others..my philosophy has always been that you can do anything for a stretch of time, if you know that the hours are not forever.

I was trying to choose a favorite, but I just can't!!!! We put up our tree this week and my husband kept saying that we had enough ornaments and shouldn't put anymore on. I told him that you could never have enough! And, we put on almost all of our ornaments with the wire instead of hooks- it works wonders!

Hi Teresa,

I'm amazed at your gifting in decorating. You blow me away with your talent and the talents of your helpers too. The trees are gorgeous as well as the mantles and stair rails...BEAUTIFULLY FESTIVE!!

My little half tree pales in comparison to your fully decorated trees.

God bless you throughout the rest of the Christmas season. May He continue to use you in ways that you can't even imagine. He already has!

Love you,
Alleluiabelle

Hey everyone, it's Shinny Upatree, Teresa's elf sidekick. This past week was jam packed with lots of work but our last house yesterday was WOW!

Teresa went out to the house first to see if I needed to buy any supplies to bring with me. She asked me to go to Red Door Interiors to get the much loved gauzy ribbon for the tree. I have been avoiding this place because it's everything Christmas I love and I can't have it. So when I went into the store I put my blinders on and went straight to the gauzy ribbon. I started pulling the rolls one by one and stacking them high, all the while a very distinguished looking woman was trying to figure out why I needed so much of this stuff. She finally said to me, "You look like you know what to do with this ribbon, so tell me what you use it for." I explained I was a tree decorator headed to a job and gave her a few hints about the gauzy ribbon. I also told her to read about Teresa in our SB Magazine who did a great article last week with photos of some fabulous trees.

I was glad to get out of the store without buying anything for me, but know a trip to the Red Door is definitely in my future. Teresa, don't send me in there ever again. I may not come out!

Thank you for stopping by and complementing my trees! That means a lot coming from a pro! I would love to know how you got started, how you find clients, what you charge, what your duties entail (shopping or just using their stuff) etc.! It would be a dream job for me to do that! People tell me I should, but I don't even know where to begin!

You are truly talented! I bet you are EXHAUSTED! I hurt all over for days after putting all 6 of mine up and decorated in 1 day!
