A Middle of the Night Post

Tuesday, October 6, 2009

I had not planned to post tonight, but since I cannot sleep, and it is the middle of the night, thought I would show you a new color combination that I picked up at market this past week for a client. This is going to be a fun and very different tree.

Besides being a tree decorator, I am a football fan.....and I am a (rabid) Brett Farve fan...so that explains why I cannot sleep....Monday night football was Brett Farve at his best...Magical. That's all I will say in case I have some readers that are BF haters. We had a family party tonight and it was football fun!

These pictures will be for a VERY whimsical tree in a family room....Enjoy... I will do the post on favorite holiday CD's later this week. I have already been listening to some my favorites.

This is definitely not your traditional red and green, but a fun look if you do several trees. Personally, I am more of a RED and GREEN person, but it is so nice to do something different when you do as many trees as I do. I love the lighted packages and they are going make this room VERY festive.

Love this whimsical look in other people's homes. One of my dear friends uses it and I LOVE how her home looks at Christmas. I too love the lighted packages....now go back to bed!!!

A middle of the night poster must have a middle of the night reader--so here I am! I don't use anyhing but traditional colors but love the pink and green! Today there are so many options and possibilties for decorating for Christmas--it's overwhelming. Yes, my house was glued to Favre last night too!

I'm a pretty traditional gal myself but those color combinations would be VERY cute on the trees in the girls rooms! Thanks once again for some beautiful, creative inspiration!

I love whimsical decorations! I am like you though, all of my christmas decorations tend to be traditional red and green with a hint of rustic. Maybe one day I will branch out!

And while I grew up a Bucs fan - I have to say last's night game was AWESOME!

WOW! Those are crazy fun colors. I'm like you....more traditional, but those would definitely liven up a room. Blessings, SusanD

Love the pink and green. I'm with you, not sure I would put it on my tree, but love the colors!

I'm more of a red/green gal as well but love to see other combos. There is a shop in town that has over-the-top ideas and it is fun to look! Hope you had a great trip and that your precious boy is feeling better!

On a side note - my husband is a die hard Packer fan. It was a miserable night in our home last night. He couldn't sleep, either. I think deep down he still really likes Favre but has to show loyalty to his team. You have to at least admire all he has accomplished in his career. Glad it was magical for you!!!

I agree -- I'm a red and green Xmas person. But I still wouldn't mind one of these at all. They're beautiful!

I love these colors! A couple of years ago I bought a bunch of new ball ornaments in 3 different sizes with various colors (purple, gold, green, red, etc.). I'm guessing these are not items that the general public can purchase?

Although the colors are not for me either, everything looks really cute! I lean more towards burgandy and golds. Actually, forget the "lean towards", I'm totally there! :)

Oh MY Goodness!! The magical pull of the vibrant colors and delightful tree tugged at my enter child. I so love all the whimsy you captured in my imagination. What a wonderful indulgence on a cloudy day in Oregon!!! Thanks~Holly

I love these colors...they are very similar to the colors I use on my tree! I use anything but traditional red and green. :)

I just posted my first favorite things giveaway and it's a couple of my favorite Christmas cd's!! I'll have to come back when you post about Christmas music. :)

I LOVE Brett Favre and he ROCKED last night!!

I have a collection of ornaments in these bright colors. They are too fun to resist! I put them on a white tree with colored lights in my office, so it's not our "main tree." But it's my favorite!

Love these colors!! I really like the Lime Green for Christmas!!

I am so not a red/green kind of person so I love the pink and purple.

I like the lighted packages also but finances this year are very, very limited. I have some clear plastic boxes in various sizes from about an eight inch to 12 inch squares. Do you think it would look OK to fill them with some of my tree balls that are not pretty enough for trees, stick in a small strand of clear lights mixed in with the balls and plug each one in placing the cord through a hole cut in the box. Just want somebody's opinion before I make them.

Thanks & God Bless,
Mimmy

I love these colors but maybe on a smaller, secondary tree for me. I'm such a traditional nut! By the way, you mentioned on a previous post that you would show us some great ornaments from Hobby Lobby. Could you please post those pictures? Thanks! Looking forward to those!

Love those colors! Would love to see those Hobby Lobby ornaments you mentioned in a prior post that are "must haves" for this year. Can you post those pictures, please?

We have a traditional tree with keepsake/memory ornaments but I would definitely find a place for these colors. They're so very festive and happy! Love it! (Of course, I am "Whimzie," so what do you expect? ;) )

Oh, I love the vibrant colors. Great choices.

p.s. I've been up late blogging a few times myself. :0)

You're so right....a baby changes everything, but not as much as that one baby changed the world. Beautiful.

I like this color scheme, too - though I'm definitely more of the traditional red and green mindset, too.

Thanks for the visit to my blog today, and the sweet compliment!

HI there. Thanks for your sweet comments on my blog. Of course I will come here and comment - and a giveaway to boot! YAY!
Very fun colors. My living room is purple and burgundy. It's very fun, but the family room is the traditional red and green. And the one at the top of the stairs is gold and silver.
It's getting close! I love the Holidays!!
Thanks for sharing!
