I CRIED OVER GOLF TODAY

Sunday, April 11, 2010

My party post is below... hope you will read it,as there is a BIG GIVEAWAY in it. Tonight I needed to post something that is fresh and making me smile. Today I saw something beautiful. I am laughing as I type, as it seems like I have used this blog for anything that might be controversial. But since it's my BLOG and my feelings its OK. There is great freedom in being able to put them in writing. Really I write very few controversial posts, so don't be scared away. I need to preface this by saying I do not play golf, don't even particularly like it, have a son-in-law that is a very good golfer, but my knowledge of the sport is next to none. I do love a good love story. I do love a big game.

I DID NOT want Tiger to win today. If you did, that's certainly your call. I just didn't. For the first time ever, I watched almost all of the Masters. I have kept up with Phil and Amy Mickelson's story this past year. It was not a fun year and I had so much admiration for him when he took the year off to be at Amy and his Mom's side, as they BOTH battled breast cancer. If you missed the WIN today and the sweet embrace of Phil and Amy and their little girls at the Master's, and you did not shed a tear, I am wondering about you. It was a Kodak moment. It was one of those WINS that I think was meant to be.I want to believe that a good man was being honored for being a good man! Some days that seems to be a real rarity in the sports world, maybe in the WORLD period.
And if you missed it check it out on You Tube. Sorry I don't know how to add them....Maybe some sweet blogger would tell me how.

I did not watch any of the Masters this year but kept up with the news of who was leading at the end of each day. I am so numb over Tiger that I don't even know what to feel. He used to be my fave until I began seeing him use profanity during his matches. Obvious words. Televised. Should have known if there was not control with that, there probably is a lack of control somewhere else. Enough said.

Reading the results this afternoon about Phil and the embrace with Amy just made me smile. Hearing the family's story made me want to cry. BELIEVING that it is God that rewarded this man, I thanked Him in prayer. God is good.

Watched the Masters as well and glad you posted about this! Phil and Amy Mickleson were so sweet! What a sweetheart she was and what a deserving man to win! Found you through another blog at UBP! Following now!

Yes, a very sweet, sweet win for Phil. My husband and I were out and about, but we were recording the Masters. The minute we got home, we started to watch and watched the whole thing. Even though we knew Phil won (that's what you get when you're listening to sports radio), we still watched the whole thing unfold. And to see him and Amy at the end was so precious. I cried, too. So glad for him and Amy to have a joyful time to share after the year they have had.

I couldn't agree more. I am so happy he won, he is a very deserving man. I have only been on your blog now for about 5 minutes and I am falling in love with it all. We have a lot of the same views and you seem to be such a strong believer which is something I really look for for guidance for myself. Thanks!

I am not a golf fan either but I do like it when there is a happy story behind the big winners. (I did not want Tiger to win either, he is a great golfer but like the old saying goes "Cheaters never prosper" ok, maybe they do but I do not want them to!)

I feel ya. I think who ever played best should win, but I just wish it was the "good men" who played best. ya know? But I will try not to judge others.

I'm from Augusta and definitely have a lot of ties to the Augusta National and have been there many times. I can say that also did NOT want Tiger to win and was totally thrilled that Phil won! God bless him and his wife and family. Love your blog!
