AN IMPORTANT POST

A CHALLENGE

This is the same post I did on my main blog today and in just a few hours I have had so much feedback that I felt like I needed to repost it here.
This may seem like a CRAZY POST , but this was on my heart today....and I cannot get it off my mind....I have posted before my thoughts on the importance of SNAIL MAIL. You know that many of my GIVEAWAYS are what my customers call "The Card Box"! It is an enabler...if you have cards on hand you are MUCH MORE likely to send them. You think of a person that needs encouragement and by the time you get to a store where cards are, you have forgotten. THIS IS ALL COMING from the QUEEN of email. Then I read this post Kelly wrote on snail mail! CONFIRMATION....Nothing brings a smile like a note or card in the mail that someone is thinking about you or praying for you.
WE probably will NEVER know when a card helped a friend make it through the day. We know lots of peoples problems, but I am convinced we have no idea the hurts that are behind the best looking doors. I work in homes that have FABULOUS doors. Sometimes I leave thinking if others really knew the hurt, the fear and the hopelessness behind that door, they would not envy the big house. I am a card sender....at least every few nights I ask God who I can encourage...this is not bragging...I have cards within arms reach, so its not hard. I cannot tell you the times that someone has emailed me or even sent me a note telling me that they were going through the trial of their life and the card made their day.
PROOF enough for me that snail mail is still IN! I do not write long messages, most of the time the card says it all and I just sign it..I realized I just posted last night, so this posts comments will go in the drawing tomorrow night also....Because I love to give, but more than that, BECAUSE I want to HELP YOU BLESS someone else,
I will draw 3 names on Friday night and each of those bloggers will receive a gift of cards....I have NEVER known a time when I have personally known more people that are in HUGE battles and in need of a little encouragement. What about you? I REALLY want this to be BIG. I want SNAIL MAIL to become popular again. Send a new reader or readers and let me know and I will enter your name 5 extra times...MAIL SOMEONE A CARD THIS WEEK!
If you missed this post from last night, there are some CUTE pictures ....

I read Kelly's post earlier today & was totally inspired. What an awesome giveaway you are hosting & snail mail IS important in today's high tech, fast-paced world.

I agree, we have older aunts and neighbors that are not into computers, and they love to get nice little cards from friends. What a great idea.

This is a brilliant idea, and thank you for encouraging people to write and send snail mail real paper cards.
I keep a big stash of cards around, and send notes often.
My older relatives especially like them.
Be sure to keep postage stamps close at hand too.

I volunteer to be the "correspondence" person at our church. Once a month I send cards to all members whom we are praying for, in addition to all members in nursing homes and hospitals. I love picking out what to send to who, and hearing how excited they get when they see who they are from. Yes, "snail mail" is STILL IN!

I am still doing snail mail because I like getting mail back and this sometimes happens. It's fun to find real mail in a mailbox. I make my own cards and I have a stash I haven't used in awhile and started doing that again. Fun.

Totally agree! I learned the importance of it from my mother who was the" queen of cards."

Count me in on the giveaway.

Thanks

My dog died several weeks ago. My high school friend from 35 years ago sent me a sympathy card. It was one of the sweetest things. It came at just the right time. Cards and letters are very special.

Diana and I are sisters. Mother was the "queen of cards" and Diana is the princess. Both of these ladies do/did cards right.

Count me in on the giveaway.

Hey, Girlfriend! I was so happy to read your post. I am a postmaster in a small town and I can attest to how much people LOVE to get cards and letters. Thanks for doing the card giveaways. What a great idea. Love your blog. Love you. And I LOVED my giveaway box from Christmas. I've even saved the wrapping paper from the box my stuff arrived in....
